Concession approved!

On behalf of the data center project, Skagerak Nett AS has applied for concession to NVE to provide sufficient amounts of green renewable energy to site Gromstul.
The concession was approved on November 7th 2018. The permit gives Skagerak Nett AS the opportunity to build and operate Kiseåsen substation with its associated network connection to existing wiring and Rød switching station with an initial power output of up to 50 MW. In the long term, Kiseåsen substation may provide Site Gromstul with up to 500 MW.

The data center project now has the two most important elements in place to realize plans for establishing Norway’s first hyperscale data center. The site zoning was approved before summer of 2018.
